Scarlet Dragonfly Journal is a daily journal for poets to share Cherita, Gembun, Haibun, Haiga, Haiku, Hay(na)ku, Monoku,  Rengay, SciFaiku, Senryu, Shahai, Tanbun, Tanka, Tan Renga, Tanshi, and other Japanese short-forms including chained, linked, and collaborative poems.

Submissions accepted February 1-25

Every month we invite you to submit in a single email up to three (3) poems, typed in the email’s body for consideration in the following month’s publication.
                –For haiga please attach a jpeg file and type your haiku, etc. into the body of your email.
                –If more than three poems are submitted, only the first three will be considered.
                –If submitting collaborative poems, please provide an email address, publication
                name, and country for all participants.

All entries must be unpublished and your original work in English. Please no simultaneous submissions. Poetry posted in personal blogs and on social media is accepted.

Published works are those published in:
            — Online journals, e-zines, anthologies, eBooks, eChapbooks, eNewspapers
            — Hardcopy journals, magazines, anthologies, books, chapbooks, newspapers, pamphlets

We will not do any special formatting except for bold, italics, spacing, and centering.

Any poem that suggests racism, violence, politics, or prejudice will not be considered.

PLEASE NOTE: Every five days we email a Featured Poet’s list to the contributors selected for the next five days of postings. That list is SDJ’s notification of acceptance. At the end of the month, if any of your poems are not selected for the month, you may resubmit them in the future or submit them to another publication.

At least three poems will be posted daily in this journal. To receive automatic notification of our daily publications, please submit your email address in the SUBSCRIBE box.

The poet keeps all rights to their work after publication. There are no fees to enter.

SDJ is accepting third-person biographies. You may include photos, websites, and embedded links in the text. Please submit changes as needed.
